NAIDOC Week Events

There are many community events happening during NAIDOC week. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity to participate in a range of activities and to support your local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
 
The City of Kwinana and surrounding suburbs have several NAIDOC week activities happening. Click here for more details.
 
Here are some more NAIDOC events:
  • The Rockingham NAIDOC Celebration will be held at the Gary Holland Community Centre on Thursday, July 4, 2019 – 10:30 to 13:30. Everyone is welcome to come along and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culture performances and community stalls.   • Perth Cultural Centre is hosting a special free event in celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, cultures and communities on Wednesday 6 July from 11:00am – 3:00pm in the James Street Amphitheatre.
  • NAIDOC Midland 2019 will celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on 9 July 2019 at Midland Oval (Morrison Road Midland WA) between 10 am and 2:30 pm. This is a free event that combines cultural activities, entertainment and family-friendly attraction.
  • The Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA) will have a variety of free events during NAIDOC week, including Wesfarmers Arts Guided Tours, showcasing local and national Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander work held at AGWA. These special guided tours will provide insight into the artists and their stories.
