Ella’s Hope for Diabetes
Year 6 student, Ella, is on a mission to bring hope to children who have diabetes. Today, over 900 students at Makybe Rise Primary School dressed up in blue as a symbol of hope that a cure will be found.
Ella organised today’s Wear Blue for Diabetes day because she hopes scientists will find a cure and no future child will need to suffer.
“It really needs to stop” she said. “I have some really hard days with trying to do injections and going high and low.”
“If I do something, it can help others who are just getting diagnosed.”
School Principal, Steph McDonald, said that it’s very important that students know that they can take action and bring about change in the world.
