National Simultaneous Storytime 2019

On Wednesday May 22, Students at Makybe Rise participated in National Simultaneous Storytime. National Simultaneous Storytime aims to encourage Australians to enjoy books by promoting a book by an Australian author. The chosen book is then read at the same time across the country. Last year, just over one million other students in Australia read the book, ‘Hickory Dickory Dash’ at the same time we did!

The book for 2019 was ‘Alpacas with Maracas’ which is written and illustrated by Matt Cosgrove. This entertaining book was about Macca and his best pal Al entering a talent show together.

All the students at our school read the book and completed different activities associated with it. Take a look at the pictures of some of the students in Room 14 (Year One) and Room 21 (Year 5/6) who enjoyed reading the story together.
