Athletics Carnivals

On Thursday 20 June and Friday 21 June, we had two spectacular days for our Junior and Senior Athletics Carnivals. The dreary weather certainly didn’t affect the Tribe’s bays, which were filled with loud cheering, huge smiles and a great sense of satisfaction from all students. Well done to all the students, who once again displayed great sportsmanship and perseverance across all events throughout both days.

Every student from Year 1 to 6 participated in a variety of events during the Athletics Carnival. They have been enthusiastically learning these events during weekly Tribes Training sessions.

All students were provided with the opportunity to compete in –
• Sprint Race – 80m/100m
• Tribe Baton Relay
• Flag Race
• Team Games – Leaderball, Tunnelball, Passball,
• Novelty Games – Egg & Spoon Race, Sack Race and Tug O War
• Javelin/Vortex (during sport)
• Long Jump (during sport)

In addition, some students qualified for the 200m, 400m and Champion Relays.

Well done to our 2019 Champion Tribe Hydra, for their consistent effort during both carnivals. Congratulations Hydra!
